I am having trouble installing parts of the design suite and I have no idea why. Installed part of it just fine. Autocad and Revit were installaed and work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

wondering that within the log file there is nothing written about installation of AutoCAD or Revit (or have you had that installed before?).
The error you get is that this fails:
C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2016\3rdParty\x86\VCRedist\2012UPD4\vcredist_x86.exe
Find that file within the Windows-explorer, right-click it and use the option “start as administrator”, if that worked then restart the installer of DesignSuite.
If that failed upload the screenshot that shows the message, why the installation failed.

I ran the install and Autocad and Revit installed successfully. Rhen I tried running it again just in case. That’s why it says nothing about Autocad or Revit.
I ran vcredist_x86.e
After restart I get the same result.
PS. This is a brand new install of Windows. It is service pack 1 and I have not run all the updates yet. Don’t know if that is relevant or not.
Windows 7 that is.

Im having issues installing. When I started several days ago it would install so far and then freeze up. Then I would get an error regarding monitor.exe. I turned off everything and even rebooted in safe mode so I would have no possibility if monitor.exe to do or access anythung. I was told to just keep trying. After several times now I get a communication error. I have moved nothing as far as files, I have full internet access and to my knowledge my firewall is not blocking anything. You would think they would want customers to install the product. Can you help me or know someone that can? Im not an expert so step by step preferably. Thanks

prevent to install directly from internet, first download your installation media (using “Browser Download”) and then start the installation from your local/downloaded file.
If you get an error message, please show the screenshot here, I have not seen a message during installation with something like “monitor.exe” in it, so a screenshot could show me some more details helping to isolate the issue.

I can see on your log file this line/failure:
.NET Framework Runtime 3.5 SP1 Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
So make sure that in your Windows Framework 3.5 is activated, or start this file using right-click and “start as administrator”
D:\Software\2016\Building_Design_Suite_Premium_2016_English_Win_32_64bit_dlm\3rdParty\NET\35SP1\wcu\dotNetFramework\Install35Net.exe
At least you’ll get a better error message when that fails too.

I have a question, I am trying to help a user to get the installation of Autodesk Building Design Suite installed on her computer. I asked the user to logn to the autodesk your account page, then she chooses to install Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium. The download is done. But then when we try to perform the installation (the program asks me to enter my admin password). The only thing that happens is that a window with the Autodesk Building Desing Suite Premium picture showing Initializing appears. Nothing happens after a while (like 10 minutes)
It has to be pointed that the same user has Revit Lt 2016 installed on her computer.
She has even had Autodesk Building Desing Suite 2015 and 2016 installed before on the same computer.

Maybe I don’t understand that, but why installing something that is already installed? Or are you speaking about different releases (if so, which one)?

Please use the “Browser Download” option, not the”install” option from the Internet-site. Then wait until all downloads are finished, if that is done (make sure all files are finished and saved locally) you can start the installation from the first exe (lowest number).
